There will be a call for participation for the first re:publica Vienna, where you can submit your ideas for the program. The CfP for re:publica Vienna will start on May 25, 2026 and ends June 30, 2026.

The re:publica Vienna programme will be available on this website shortly.

The re:publica programme in Vienna is curated by a team of curators from the Momentum Institute and re:publica, who consider a wide range of topics and speakers to create a diverse and relevant program.

The curators review the proposals submitted in response to the Call for Participation and select those that best fit re:publica. They are supported in this process by a track team, external advisors from our community with extensive knowledge in specific subject areas.

re:publica strives to present a balanced mix of established experts and emerging voices to offer a broad perspective on the conference topics.

There won't be a livestream this time. But all the talks will be available online after the conference. This means you can watch them later, which is great for people who can't be there in person or want to take things in at their own pace.

"Tracks” are general subject areas to which you can assign your submission. All tracks (categories) are defined at the beginning of the Call for Participation (CfP). This season, the 6 tracks are as follows:

• Politics & Society
• Media & Public Spheres
• Science & Technology
• Economy & Innovation
• Education & Learning
• Arts & Culture

To ensure a balanced programme at re:publica, we assemble a “Track Team” of external advisors, which reviews and evaluates the CfP submissions in the different categories ("tracks") - including representatives of the digital community, loyal friends of re:publica, experts in their fields, and returning speakers.

We can only pay fees in selected cases and up to a certain amount. These are negotiated on an individual basis. Basically, we differentiate as follows

• Invited Speakers on our main stage (who are invited by the programme team) may receive a speaking fee.
• Invited speakers for panels and interviews (invited by the programme team) may receive a compensation fee.
• Speakers from the Call for Participation will not receive a fee, but will receive access to the event

re:publica Vienna will take place for the first time in Vienna at the Kulturhaus Brotfabrik, Absberggasse 27 (Stiege 3) on October 2-3, 2026. It is organized by republica GmbH in cooperation with Moment.at.

The venues are fully accessible and equipped with barrier-free sanitary facilities. There are clearly designated contact persons on site for questions regarding accessibility. Information about the program, travel, and orientation is provided in advance and in an understandable manner. The goal is to take different needs into account—for example, in terms of mobility, perception, or sensory overload.

We are continuously working to remove barriers as far as possible, but we also know that accessibility is not a state but a process. Comments, needs, and suggestions for improvement are expressly welcome.

The most important thing is always to let us know as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly. If you feel ill, please stay at home and let us know. Please note that a festival like re:publica is also exhausting on the days you are not volunteering. Before applying, please consider carefully whether you really have the time, as every change to the shift schedule involves extra work for us.

We try to assign all volunteers to their preferred areas, but we cannot promise this. It is best to indicate several areas in which you would feel comfortable. If there is something you absolutely do not want to do, you can also indicate this in the form.
