CfP guidelines

  1. Please read the programme FAQs carefully.

In the FAQs you'll find answers to a number of questions that may come up before, during or after submitting your idea.

  2. This is what makes a good CfP submission for us:

Relevance, topicality, problem-solving, stance, opinion: Your proposal should convince through a well-thought-out concept. The participants of re:publica and the programme team are looking for content that engages with the solutions and challenges of our digital society, from which we can learn something and through which we are confronted and inspired with new perspectives and possible solutions. Or that's simply fun.

We want content – not pitches! Socially relevant topics, forward-looking developments and useful innovations deserve a stage and have a real chance with us. Advertising and aggressive self-promotion, however, are excluded. That doesn't mean our participants aren't also interested in the latest digital products or services.

We want to create space for different viewpoints and reflect diversity: That's why we place great value on gender equality. In addition, we also want to include perspectives of people of different origins, age groups, religions, worldviews, sexual orientations and people with disabilities. Other aspects of diversity are also significant, such as education, social status, marital status and income.

  3. As part of the CfP, you choose a session format:

    • (Short) Talk

    • Panel discussion

Moderated conversation that provides an overview of different viewpoints and brings knowledge together.

      • 3 speakers, 1 moderator
      • 60 min incl. Q&A (optional)
    • Workshop

Participants are actively involved; practical activities are taught and/or carried out.

      • 1–2 workshop leaders
      • 60 min
  4. Then you choose a category (track) that fits your topic:
